NYC Motorcyclists Shop Survey
The NYC Motorcyclists Shop Survey is a consumer watch intended to help NYC motorcycle denizens locate a competent, honest repair shop. You can post your own good/bad experiences and check reports from others.
If you are looking for a shop please scan these comments with the following caveats:
People are more likely to punish a shop with a blistering review than reward them for a competent job.
The reviewer may have little experience with motorcycles. He may believe he got terrific service when in reality he got substandard repairs and was charged for work he didn't need.
Many shops specialize. They may do terrific work on one brand or type of motorcycle but have little experience with others.
A shop may have cleaned up its act since a bad review, although this is rare unless it's changed ownership.
Be aware that delays are sometimes the fault of the parts supplier, not the dealer.
Realize that there are as many difficult customers as there are difficult shops. Even the best repair shops will have a few disgruntled customers.
For fairness, we will allow equal time for a shop to publicly dispute any critical reports. Please send me email and I'll post legitimate counterpoint.
